Spod Braid is a braided main line for your spod rods, and it has been designed to make baiting up as easy as possible, even when fishing at long range. This 20lb breaking strain braid has an incredibly low diameter of just 0.16mm, so it will allow you to cast a spod or spomb as far as you can cast your fishing rods, and at closer ranges it allows you to do so with minimal effort due to how well it casts.
Spod Braid is also very durable, which is essential given how often it will be cast, and has good knot strength, but it should be used in conjunction with a 30lb Arma-Kord shock leader to prevent crack-offs during casting – keeping the braid wet whilst in use will also help to prevent crack-offs around the rod rings. It comes in a bright fluoro green colour, which not only ensures that you can easily see where your line is when retrieving, but also helps to deter birds (including seagulls) from your swim as the line travels through the air – particularly useful when spodding with floaters.
Each spool contains 300m of Spod Braid, so unless you are casting at extreme range then it can even fill two spools, as long as you use backing line on your spool.
