Mepps LongCast is designed for big fish, and extensive engineering has gone into its development. First, every LongCast is perfectly balanced so that the blade rotates freely and easily—a characteristic common to all Mepps spinners. Perfect balance doesn't happen by chance. Every element—from the wire to the hook—is carefully selected and tested with other components to ensure perfect harmony.
The heavy, spherical body makes long casts considerably easier. Furthermore, the LongCast sinks quickly and maintains a minimal distance from the bottom throughout the retrieve, which makes it ideal for strong currents and deep water. It will be a particularly favored solution for mole coasts. A perfect choice for trophy trout and salmon.
Weight and comparison:
-
#4 LongCast (5/8 oz.) is 85% heavier than #4 Mepps Aglia and 65% heavier than competitor analogs.
-
#5 LongCast (7/8 oz.) is 75% heavier than #5 Mepps Aglia and twice as heavy as competitor #5 spinners.
-
In fact, the heavy #5 LongCast is 40% heavier than competitor #6 spinners.
Give the Mepps LongCast a chance, and you'll quickly realize that casting distance and fishing depth are significantly greater than ever before. In fact, you'll be able to fish where it was previously impossible.
