Lifelike lures of all shapes and sizes have been popular for decades, but few have come close to Tomy's Bait handmade lures. We are now delighted to announce that Westin has joined forces with Tomy to make his Original Perch lure design available worldwide.
A lifelong fascination with fish has given Tomy an unparalleled understanding of their behaviour. From keeping fish in aquariums to diving with them and fishing, Tomy has become obsessed with creating artificial lures that mimic the natural prey of predatory fish as accurately as possible.
First created in 2015, Tomy's Original Perch is arguably his most famous lure. It was designed to imitate a small perch – a fish that is an important part of the diet of predatory fish in many places. The Original Perch is the embodiment of Tomy's continuous development and craftsmanship, striving to create the most lifelike design possible. The dynamic shape of this lure was later refined with external fins to achieve an even more natural look. Combined with the incredibly realistic, hand-painted finish, the Original Perch was irresistible to predatory fish from the outset, and its fame has spread internationally, becoming the choice of many experienced lure anglers.
The original paddle tail's upward-facing design has become a hallmark of Tomy's lures, giving them a unique movement. Not only does this tail create an incredibly realistic swimming action, but it also pulsates even at slow speeds, including free fall when the retrieve is paused. The Original Perch performs exceptionally well with both steady and slightly chaotic retrieve rhythms, making it a very effective lure for catching all predatory fish.
