The Hi-Tide SSD 106M is similar to the Hi-Tide SSD 96M model and is suitable for similar lures. Although it's not huge – as might seem from its 10″ length – the Hi-Tide SSD 106M is light and easy to handle.
It has slightly more power in the butt section than the 96M model, allowing the angler to make a stronger cast even in harsher weather conditions. In addition to casting distance, the longer tip provides better line control on windy days, more reach over waves, and greater control if the fish is close to the shore.

The 2021 release of the Tailwalk Hi-Tide SSD has ‘99% carbon and 1% fiberglass’ so more flex than other rods, making them suitable for long days of casting, easier to load the rod properly and also as a hybrid rod for landing big bass, sea trout and salmon.
A little like the Hi-Tide SSD 96M, the Hi-Tide SSD 106M will handle similar lures. Far from being a monster – as you might imagine anything over 10″ – the Hi-Tide SSD 106M is light and easily manageable.
Probably a touch more power in the butt than the 96M, allowing you to really lean in to the cast a bit more on the roughest days. As much as providing a few extra yards on the cast, the extra tip length gives you more line control on windy days, more reach above the waves, and more steering control over a close-in fish.
