While other manufacturers focus on the bait's external appearance, DUO pays attention to the internal construction. We know that impacts against pier walls and rocky shores are inevitable. This can damage poppers, but model 64 is designed to withstand such impacts. The wall thickness of the Popper 64 and its internal bracing elements ensure structural rigidity and durability.
The Realis topwater lure's "pop" effect creates more water splash with less effort from the angler's hand, thanks to a thin, sloped lip – a deflector. This means there's no need to file the lip for a bigger water grab. The multi-angled cup also helps the bait perform a "walk the dog" action. Yes, this popper truly "walks the dog" very smoothly. While some poppers are simple, DUO decided to develop a more complex design. Research and development staff spent countless hours perfecting the lure's movement and static posture. Many tournament poppers lie almost flat or sit at around a 30-40 degree angle, freeing up hooks and extending the lure's profile. DUO chose a different approach. The Popper 64 rests almost vertically, giving it a sleeker silhouette, and it does not affect hook-up chances in any way. Waves do not interfere with its movement or position, and a larger part of the body is submerged, exposing the lure more to fish.
Looking at the rear of most poppers, you might notice that the lure's end looks as if the designer simply stopped. The Realis Popper 64's tail section is aggressively tapered. It has a sharp keel that flattens at the base. This aids in "walking the dog." The hook anchor area is cut away, allowing more freedom for the rear hook.
